Ok, so this may not be entirely 'relevant' to this module (sorry Steven), but I think this is exciting so I thought I'd share it.
The Roland Levinsky building is mentioned in CRblog!! Apparently the Peninsula Arts gallery is showcasing a load of pretty Chopin posters next month, and the Very Important People at CR think it's cool enough to feature in their Extremely Awesome Blog.
What's kind of disappointing for me is the fact I found out about this through a blog that has no direct affiliation with the uni/gallery/event, when I practically live in RL. Why is there such a low level of awareness about events in the arts gallery? CR knows more about things than we (the students!) do.
Good find Rosi, and I think this is a fine place to flag that up. Inspiring stuff. And very fine thoughts from you on exposure (or lack of) in ref to the arts in RLB. When you both have a free min might be worth talking to Lizzie about this topic. And also we should put bets on as to when you and your work are going to appear in the CR blog. I'll start the bidding off by saying sometime before you graduate..

ReplyDeleteas steve mentioned, this is a subject close to my heart. i'm actually working on a fellowship project with one of the curators at peninsula arts to try and find out what more can be done to promote to us upstairs and beyond, what happens downstairs (and vice versa). at some point in the not too distant future i hope that we will be working more closely with them. will keep you posted as things pan out.
Thanks for the comments guys, I don't know about me being in CRblog but we can dream can't we? It's good to know that this issue has already been raised and that a solution (or solutions) are underway, hopefully in the near future we'll actually know what's going on in our own building! yay!
